Here's my full review of UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊:

Room: We stayed in the Alcoba Swim-Up Pool room with "tropical view." The room was sooo nice! There was a large king bed that was incredibly comfortable, and we could tell that the rooms were brand new and very clean. There was also a comfortable sofa, dining table, mini fridge, and a roomy bathroom, but the best part of the room was definitely the swim-up pool! The pool felt like bathwater at all times and it was so nice!

Pools: There are three different pools at UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊: two main pools (that are more of the party pools) and one serenity pool which is a lot quieter. The pools are very large and absolutely beautiful, and we had no problem finding chairs to lay out on in the morning. All of the pools are incredibly relaxing! Especially when you're having pina coladas delivered to your chair hahah - waiters walk around and will deliver both drinks and food to your lounge chairs!

Beach: The beach at UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊ was really nice but we actually didn't spend much time there during the day (we preferred the pools!). We did go on a few beach walks at sunset and there are some really pretty sunsets. One thing we did notice was that there was tons of seaweed on the beach!

Food: The food may have been one of my favorite parts of UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊! It's an all-inclusive resort, which I think is pretty hard to do well - in the past I've found that the food at all-inclusive resorts isn't that great, but that's NOT the case here. When you arrive, your in-room minibar is stocked according to your preference (beer, water, soda, etc.), and there's free 24-hour room service that you can order via the phone or via UNICO's app. For breakfast, we really loved the "healthy breakfast" on the room service menu - it came with an egg white omelet, fruit, yogurt, green tea and a fresh juice. We also really loved Inez Cafe for both breakfast and lunch, they make really good almond milk lattes and avocado toast. I'm drooling just remembering it, hahah! The resort's lunch buffet restaurant, Restaurant 20.87, is actually the best buffet I've ever been to. In addition to fresh salads, pasta, seafood, tacos (and more), there is a full sushi bar where they will make you sushi right before your eyes (the best avocado roll ever!). For dinner, the restaurants are all brand new and have great atmospheres - they're beautiful. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese one, Mura House. We enjoyed amazing tempura vegetables, sushi rolls, salmon, and fried ice cream for dessert.

Activities: There are tons of activities at UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊, whether you want to stay at the resort or go off on an excursion. We took advantage of the Floating Yoga class one morning - the yoga mats are suspended in the pool, which makes it even more challenging to hold your balance (especially when there are small waves in the pool!). Another night we went to the Silent Disco party and had a blast. Everyone wears headphones with two different music channels, and it's sooo funny when you take off your headphones and it looks like everyone is dancing in silence! We also took one excursion while we were on the trip, called the "Mayan Village & Tankah Cenotes" excursion. We visited three different cenotes in the jungle, zip lined, canoed, then walked to a nearby Mayan village where they made us an authentic Mayan meal. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and bring a change of clothes!

Spa: The spa at UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊ is GORGEOUS. We took a lot of pictures in the spa because it was so pretty! The pool has moroccan tile at the bottom and lots of airy, natural light. While I was there I booked the "Esencia Signature" massage where TWO therapists work together to give the massage. Imagine - someone massaging your shoulder AND feet at the same time! Y'all it was heavenly. I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks! Definitely get to your massage or facial an hour early so you can take advantage of the spa's amenities.

Transportation: We flew into the Cancun airport (only a three hour flight from Charlotte), and from there it was an hour and a half ride from the airport to the resort. The hotel made all of the arrangements for us so it was really easy!

In conclusion, I would highly recommend UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊!! In addition to a romantic getaway, we also saw a few bachelorette parties and groups of girls, so it is a great place to go with your girl gang as well.

Let me know if you have questions in the comment section and I'll be sure to answer them! xoxo
