Good morning, everyone! Sorry for skipping yesterday's post, life has been CRAZY recently! (Side note: amid the craziness I did find my wedding dress on Saturday!) Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share some pictures from my trip to Aspen and the hotels that we stayed in (we LOVED our hotels!) in case any of you are planning a trip to Aspen in the future.
This is my friend Jessica (@hapatime) that I went on the trip with! It was a fun girls trip because her sister came as well as my mom! Our beanies are from ASOS (last year) but Forever 21 has some identical beanies for less than $15 each.
October is a great time to go to Aspen because all of the leaves are changing! Although most of the leaves are yellow due to the Aspen trees, we were able to find a few brilliant red trees too.
long sleeve ruched dress (comes in six different colors!) // suede boots
David Yurman bracelet // MAC lipstick in "creme cup"
This Free People scarf really came in handy during the trip because it was so cold (I was actually freezing in this outfit). The scarf is great wrapped around your neck or as a wrap!

Jessica and I stayed at the Limelight Hotel for part of our stay. Our room had two big comfortable beds, a little balcony and a FIREPLACE! It was so nice to turn on and warm up after coming in from outside.

This sweater dress was one of my favorite outfits I wore in Aspen! I love it paired with over-the-knee boots and a floppy hat.

I think I mentioned this before, but it snowed heavily a few days while we were there. We woke up one morning and this was our snowy view from the terrace of the Limelight Hotel!

on me: turtleneck sweater
You must visit the coffee shop Victoria's if you're ever in Aspen... the coffee is amazing, and so is the atmosphere! This picture was taken when it was blizzarding outside, and we were looking for somewhere warm to sit down for a minute.
turtleneck // similar beanie
This was taken in a little park in downtown Aspen... I love it because of the snow on the mountain contrasted with the gorgeous yellow leaves!!

For the second half of our trip we stayed at Hotel Jerome in Aspen. One of the things I loved most is that they let hotel guests borrow a Mercedes to drive around! We headed up the mountain to check out the insane views.
This aztec poncho was another item I kept reaching for during the trip to try to keep warm! Surprisingly it went with a lot of different outfits.

You may recognize this as Maroon Bells (from last Friday's blog post). It's one of the most photographed places in the United States. During the summer and fall you can take a bus up to the top, or you can drive your own car after 5 p.m. (so that's what we did). I have been twice now, but I enjoyed this time better because we drove ourselves and we visited during sunset (which was really pretty and less crowded!).

And finally, a travel picture flying out of the Aspen airport. We flew into Denver on the way there, but it is a 4 hour drive from Denver to Aspen, so we switched our flights on the way home to fly out of the Aspen airport. It is a much smaller airport and WAY more convenient!
I wanted to recommend two different hotels that we stayed at during our time in Aspen.
The first was the Limelight Hotel, which is located right in downtown Aspen, within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants downtown. We walked in and immediately felt at home here! There's a huge fireplace in the main lobby and a ton of comfortable seating if you want to sit down and hang out. There's also a hotel restaurant and bar in the main lobby - we actually ate dinner there twice (try the margherita pizza and the mac'n'cheese!). Our rooms were incredibly spacious, with a little balcony and a fireplace (which we used a ton). Be sure to check out the terrace on the fourth floor for an amazing view. And they even had a complimentary breakfast every morning, so we filled up on donuts, eggs, bacon and pastries each day (they had a ton of breakfast options for everyone). We also thought this hotel was very affordable and would recommend it to anyone!
The second hotel we stayed at was Hotel Jerome, which was also located right downtown. The decor at this place is SO cool - lots of plaid, leather and luxurious details, and all the men walk around in cowboy hats. We also really liked our room at Hotel Jerome, and we LOVED the restaurant/bar. At night they walk around with a complimentary drink for hotel guests - we had cold apple cider with honey vodka and it was the best drink I've ever tasted! Another cool part that I already mentioned is that they let you drive a Mercedes during your stay so that you can check out the area! We had fun driving through the mountains :)
