Happy Monday! I told y'all that I was getting into the "fall" mode already, so today I've rounded up some fall basics that are essential for every woman's wardrobe (and yes, I do know it's still hot outside but that will not keep me from dreaming of pumpkin spice lattes!). My favorite part about dressing for fall is layering… but to layer successfully, you have to have a lot of simple, basic pieces. For tops, I recommend long-sleeved tees, button-up shirts, cardigans and vests (in case you haven't heard, this herringbone vest from the above photo is back in stock). As for pants, three really good pairs are all you need for the entire season if you pick the right ones! I recommend a pair of skinny jeans (so that you can tuck them into boots and wear with flats), thick black leggings or jeggings (I personally love these with the faux-leather stripe down the side), and a pair of colored pants or cords. My picks are below.

Aside from your fall basics, I love adding accessories to spice it up and complete the outfit. This year, wool floppy hats are really trendy, as are quilted leather bags like this Rebecca Minkoff one. And of course scarves are a great way to layer in the fall… I ordered this scarf the other day and can't wait to wear it! Now if only the weather would hurry up and turn cooler!!!
On another note, don't forget about the HUGE Lilly Pulitzer sale that starts at 8 a.m. this morning! Lilly hardly ever goes on sale, so this is your chance to pick up some great items for a lot less. Things always sell out really fast, though (and sometimes the website shuts down) so the earlier you log on to shop the sale the better!
