Royal Caribbean Cruise Recap…

As promised, I'm back today with a recap of this past weekend, a "blogger trip" on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Freedom of the Seas! Early Friday morning, Chris dropped me off at the airport and I flew from Charlotte to Orlando, FL. At the airport I met up with my friend Brighton who was flying in at about the same time as me, and we took a bus to Port Canaveral, FL (about a 45 minute drive). We were starving by the time we got to the boat, so we hopped on board and headed straight to the ship's unlimited buffet (lol!). Here's the first picture I took after eating… so happy to finally be there!

When the rest of the girls arrived (all bloggers!), we went and changed clothes for a cocktail party and dinner that night. At the party we learned a ton of facts about the cruise ship (for example, there are 15 decks, a surf simulator, rock-climbing wall, miniature golf course and ICE SKATING RINK all on the ship!). Here's all of the girls at the cocktail party…

After a delicious italian dinner (I ordered two different types of pasta because I couldn't decide), a bunch of us went to one of the ship's lounges for a silent dance party. This was one of my favorites parts of the entire trip! If you've never been to a silent dance party, it's really cool… the entire room is silent, but everyone has on headphones that are playing the same song, and EVERYONE is dancing. It's really funny though because if you take off your headphones, it's just a bunch of people dancing in silence! My friends and I love to dance so we had a blast!

The next day we all woke up around 7 a.m. in time to dock in Nassau, Bahamas. I was SO HAPPY to learn that there was a Starbucks on board the ship. I merrily sipped this white mocha latte as we waited to leave on our excursion for the day!

We left the ship around 8 that morning and took a bus over to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The bus ride over was beautiful…

And the resort itself was even more beautiful! I mentioned this in my Instagram photo, but does anyone remember the Mary Kate & Ashley movie "Holiday in the Sun?" I couldn't stop thinking of that movie the entire time I was there! I had a serious obsession with the Olsen twins when I was younger, and I still love them to this day.

We spent the entire day laying out on the beach… A selfie was a must! We were so lucky it was in the 80s and sunny the entire time we were there.

That night, we had a Mexican dinner planned back on the ship. I changed into this fun outfit (this off the shoulder top is my favorite!) for dinner. We watched the sunset and then headed to the restaurant Sabor where I had THE BEST queso of my entire life. Plus they served bacon wrapped jalapeños, which were absolutely amazing and I am still drooling when I think about them.

I was seriously so sad when the trip came to an end and I had to head back to chilly NC! The Freedom of the Seas was the perfect break from reality and was the best getaway for a group of girls. I would highly recommend this cruise ship for a family vacation or a trip with your girlfriends - everything you could ever need is housed on this ship!! Now I am seriously dying to go on another one!

What about you - I'd love to hear your cruise ship experience!
